Introducing… The eviid Uploader

The Uploader is eviid's latest innovation, allowing app-less, browser-based media uploads

The Uploader has been developed in response to the need to easily receive ad-hoc, pre-captured visual evidence in different formats and from various third-party devices, such as dash cam and CCTV footage. Insurers, utility companies, delivery services and a host of other sectors can use the Uploader to allow their customers to submit almost any type of visual evidence, without hassle.

Sharing big files – not as easy as it seems

Until now, users either needed to download an app (the eviid app, for example) to record and submit evidence via their smartphone or, if the evidence had already been captured, had to resize, reformat and often move files before sending them. When big file sizes are involved, this can still mean sending CDs and USB sticks by post. The web-based Uploader system uses a simple link that is sent to the customer via email or text. It supports large files and automatically virus-checks, right-sizes and formats each file before sending them straight into a secure back-end system, saving them in exactly the right place.

Use case Insurance: 50-times faster access to crucial evidence

The insurance sector is already using the Uploader to allow policyholders to provide secure and instant visual clarification of loss. At UK insurer LV= it has reduced the time it takes for claims handlers to access policyholder-submitted video and images by an incredible 98%.

Martin Milliner, claims director at LV=, commented:

The development of the eviid Uploader is a landmark moment for us. While we've previously been able to use things like the eviid app to help policyholders capture video evidence that allows us to process claims faster, there was no simple, streamlined way of receiving existing multimedia evidence from external sources such as dash cams, CCTV and evidence captured ad-hoc on smartphones.

John Ridd, CEO of eviid, added:

Our ongoing mission is to make using multimedia material as easy as possible, even in enterprise environments. We're living in a visual age and consumers increasingly use their smartphones and other digital devices to capture the world around them. Forward-thinking companies like LV= are responding to this by making it simple for customers to communicate with them visually.
